Freaking out...

Hey there,
Why do weekends seem so short?  They seem hardly enough when you had a crazy week...so crazy to the point of freaking out.  So, this week's theme over at Dilly Beans is perfect: Freaked.
What's even better, I found this awesome sentiment at Dr. B. Culp; I just had to use it!

So, you think you had a bad day?
The cute and creepy chibi is by Chiichanny, which I colored with my Sharpies.  I threw in some heart buttons from my own stash and voila!
Ok, I gotta go...short post for now.  Catching up on my other projects.  Thanks for stopping by!
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

How do you like them apples?

Hi there!  The weeks are just flying by aren't they?  Well, I would like to think I have the ability to stop time :)  But, immersing myself into my creations works just as well.
We have another amazing challenge this week over at Wicked Wednesday.  The theme is Fairy Tales and I got to work with Snow White designed by Krista, owner of Saturated Canary.

If eating an apple can help me find my prince charming, then hek! GImmee one of those babies!
Make sure you stop by check out the rest of the DT's awesome designs.  Have a great week!
Snow White's going over to visit ATCs with Attitude, see you later :)
Peace and love,

NOT COOL take 2...Please read!

I would like everyone to take a moment and read this.  This is some SERIOUS stuff.
An artist creates as a form of self expression and for the enjoyment of others.  We create to share with others.  What seems like a simple drawing or painting took time, emotional and spiritual energy.  It is a piece of the creator.  It is a baring of the soul.
Having said that, it truly hurts when some person comes along and has the gall to STEAL someone's work and use it as their own.  There are COPYRIGHT laws for a reason.
It saddens me to say that this happened to a wonderful digistamp designer, Chris Stern of CS Designs.  Last year a similar incident occurred to Bee.
Please read Chris' post.  Help prevent design theft.
Please give credit where it's due.  Don't be a party pooper and suck all the fun out of creating.
Take heart.
Namaste,
Mary

Oh, for the love of MOO!

This post has NOTHING to do with cows...I promise :)
I just love it when I go exploring other artists' blogs and get inspired or learn something new!
So, what's a MOO?  It's a mini card; learn more about them here.
Vintage MOOs are this week's challenge over at Take a Word.  Sigh, isn't art wonderful?  Here are my mini creations:

Awesome vintage bird images by Ana Marquez
Vintage pink rose from Vintage Holiday Crafts
L-O-V-E from A Surcee Life
Birdie stickers - my stash
Little Pearls - my stash
Pink pattern cardstock scraps - K & Company

So what do you think?  I recommend you try making these, they are so much fun! Thanks for stopping by!

It's a blue kind of day...

Hey everyone!
It's time for a color challenge over at Dilly Beans!  BLUE
I don't usually gravitate towards this color, but that's why I love challenges; I'm always trying something new.  I decided to try my hand at an easel card.  So, here goes:

This is an awesome Mermaid Freebie from A Day for Daisies!
This is a close up of the front, isn't she cute?

After a LOT of measuring and gluing....TADA!  This is my first ever easel card.  I'm happy with it and it'll only get better with practice :)
I'll also be entering this creation over at So Artful Challenges, where they are hosting a color theme too.

Thanks for stopping by!
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Getting Frosty...

Hi there,
I haven't been up to creating too much over the last few days.  My shoulder's been really bothering me so I've been chilling and reading.
This is one of two projects I managed to tinker with and not destroy :)  So, here's my card for this week's Frosty Challenge over at Dilly Beans.

Although the weather's getting chilly here in NYC, not one snowflake yet (trust me, I'm not complaining!)
Warm wishes everybody!

The Liebster Blog Award

I have some very exciting news to share with everyone!
I received the Liebster Blog award from Abbie.
Thank you so much!  I am very honored :)
Abbie is part of the DT at ATCs with Attitude and that is where I first crossed paths with her by joining the challenge.
You can see some of her awesome creations here.
The Liebster Blog Award is used to show appreciation of smaller blogs (under 200 followers) and to help spread readership and joy! As part of the tradition, this award is passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me in such great ways!

To accept the award:
1.  Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you and thank them :)
2.  Post the award to your blog
3.  Give the award to 5 bloggers (less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value
4.  Leave a comment on the five blogs you chose to let them know
It was no easy task to choose just five, but here are the five lovely ladies that inspire me and continue to encourage me to spread my creative wings!

1.  Jenn Borjeson
2.  Amy Rose Pennington
3.  Chelsea Comer
4.  Chana Malkah
5.  Leah

Abbie, I can't thank you enough!
Peace, love and happy creating everyone!

Clean and Simple

It's been a "berry" productive evening!  Let's take a stroll through Friendship's Garden.  This week we need to make something clean and simple.

Strawberries make me think of summer!

Pretty but deadly...

Hi there,
Here's another walk over to the dark side.  Forever Night wants you to get framed!!!

This is one time you don't want to stop and smell the flowers!
Nightshade Fat Page
Say hello to Ciao Ciao!  She's one of my favorite TokiDoki characters by Simone Legno.  I layer my halloween DP by K&Company to create a frame.  Ciao ciao is tending to her Nightshade plant.  I would say she has quite the "black thumb", don't you think so?

I will also be entering this at Fat Pages with Attitude anything goes challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Under the sea

Hey everyone!
2012 is off to such a great creative start, don't you think? Last week we time traveled back to the 60s and this week....we are going under the sea here at Wicked Wednesdays!
We are sponsored by Chris Stern of CS Designs.  I chose to work with her ocean sentiment.
I love this theme because I am a sea turtle fanatic!!!

Do you see those tiny shells? I actually found them on La Jolla Beach :) Wish I was there right now to get out of the cold.
Thanks for stopping by!
Float on over to Wicked Wednesdays and "sea" the rest of the DT's awesome designs:)

Peace and love,

When you wish upon a star

Hi everybody.  It's official, my least favorite day of the week at the moment is Monday.  But, I will not waste time dwelling on it...I spent the evening doing one of my favorite things: creating!  I am quite fond of the adorable designs by MelJens.  This week's challenge theme: STARS.
I used up the remainder scraps of my snowflake gift wrap for this card and the cute cozy star image.  I threw in some buttons, glitter and sparkles.

I hope that you like this just as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

The purple minimalist

I came across this really cool challenge blog Less is More.  Their theme is predominantly purple; that's my favorite color :) The most challenging part is to keep everything to a bare minimum.  That includes layering and embellishments.

I'm thinking about spring already:)
Well, thanks for stopping by!

Winter Wonderland

Hi there!
We are having some unusually warm weather here in NYC (trust me, I'm not complaining).  If you are experiencing a subzero tundra right now, I hope that this card I made for Dilly Beans will send you some warm thoughts.
This week's theme is Winter Wonderland.
I used leftover scraps of gift wrap and my new XACTO knife for this one.  The little mouse is all warm and cozy inside her house. She made some tea and is about to invite her friends in to warm up.

Stay warm!

Bunny gets a makeover...

Happy Saturday everybody!
So, I'm listening to some Rolling Stones, Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival this morning while enjoying a cup o' java. We are paying homage to the sixties this week over at Wicked Wednesdays.
What do you like about the 60s?  I've always loved fashion. So I gave Happy Bunny a mod dress and a dramatic beehive.  It's a good thing she has an appointment with her chiropractor later, lol!

Peace, love and flower power!

Hi there!
It's the first Wicked Wednesdays challenge of 2012!!! What better way to start off the new year with a colorful theme?  Tie dye, flower power and lava lamps...it's the 1960s! Groovy baby :)
This week's sponsor is Jelly Park and we have this cute flower girl to work with.

Feeling kinda blue...

A brisk but beautiful Monday!
One of my goals for the new year is to join more challenges and have a whole lot of fun doing it!!!
We are going to visit MelJen's today.  The theme is BLUE.
I used the Love Strung Birds image and made an accordion card.

I've been digging the vintage vibe lately.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo
