Sweet Sunday Morsel

I've been watching too much NatGeo and Discovery Channel.  You combine that with a silly mood and this is the end result.
I'm continuing to work outside my comfort zone.  I bought a set of gouache (pronounced gwash).  They are a more vibrant, opaque form of watercolor.  I'm going to have to continue experimenting and see what happens.

Ballet at the lake

Happy Frog Lily
I love the fact that she is smiling from her heart.  Not to mention, she totally rocks her yellow tutu!  Hope your day is as bright as her smile.

Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Sweet Sunday Morsels

This week, let's take a closer look at our jellybean plants!

It's time to gather the jellybeans!

Honey Bear in Jellybean Fields
I have to tell you something....I am addicted to gummy bears and JellyBelly brand jellybeans.  BUT.  I do NOT enjoy licorice/anise flavored jellybeans.  If there is someone out there that adores this flavor, I will set those aside for you.  Anyway, this week is special.  Why?  It's a two for one post.

Jellybean plants
Looks like Happy Bunny wants some jellybeans too.  I love the apple and pear flavors most.  What's your favorite flavor?

Simplicity

Remember when you were little and making a mess was fun?  Actually it was one of your duties as a carefree kid.  Then at some point, we lose that innocence and we grow up.  This was me trying to reconnect with my inner kid.  I had left over india ink.  I didn't even bother using a pen nib or brush.  I just dunked my fingers right in!
Yes, it almost always comes back to music.  It has and always will be my first love.  It's what got me through tough times and reminds me of the good times.

Take a moment and do something silly. Reconnect with that inner child of yours, it's good for the soul

Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Sweet Sunday Morsel

Juicy Pear Jelly Bean Tree

I just absolutely L-O-V-E Sundays (when I'm not working, that is).  It's the day when all the stress of the previous week is cleared and I look forward to starting the new week.  Just give me some good coffee and I am content with my art.

This is a detailed look at the Juicy Pear Jelly Bean tree from Jelly Bean fields.  We're going to visit that wonderful place next week, so stay tuned!

Be happy, be well.

Inspired by Monet

"Serenity" Digital painting on Sumo Paint
One of my favorite artists is Monet and his waterlily series.  I love the dream like quality of his work.  The images are there without really being there.  That's Impressionism in a nutshell for you!
This digital painting was inspired by him.  One of his signature color schemes is a pretty combination of blues, greens and white.  Doesn't this evoke a sense of tranquility?
Live a colorful life!

Sweet Sunday Morsel

I love everything about summer!  I love the smell of sunblock, how the sun feels on my skin, and most of all, the rush of wind in my face as I roll on by in my blades.
Although there are always ups and downs, I'm blessed to be doing what I do.  I love my job.  Everyday is another opportunity to help someone.  I'm also grateful that I can pursue art and music and get to share.
Life IS sweet! Peace and love.
Namaste,
Mary xoxo

Another day at the office

TGIF everybody!

If you were to step into my office at the clinic...what would you see?
I have little things dispersed throughout my workspace to brighten things up and keep things light.  This is one of my newest acquisitions.  Jenny, our clinic RN just came back from a conference and I came in Monday morning to find this little guy at my console.  So cute!

Then I came in this morning to find.....

Jenny is the greatest!!!!  She left me flowers for my birthday.  Muchas gracias!

Stopping by the bakery

Top row: Cherry cheesecake, Apricot filled cookie, Chocolate covered strawberry, Flan
2nd row: Creme brulee, Blueberry cupcake, Peach cobbler, Chocolate chip cookie
3rd row: Strawberry frosted donut, Vanilla layer cake w/strawberry, Strawberry frosted vanilla cupcake, Apple turnover
4th row: Cookies n cream cupcake, Fruit tart, Lemon chiffon cake, Orange bundt cake
5th row: Jelly roll, Black & White cookie, Rainbow cookie, Pina Colada cupcake

There is a good reason why I don't stop into a bakery too often.  I could end up in diabetic shock.  But treats in moderation are ok.  I can't wait to visit Babycakes in NYC again...I'm craving their vegan red velvet cupcakes!
Have a good week everybody
Love,
Mary xoxo
